There is some new vampire competition on the horizon and fans are up in arms. We're breaking down the Twilight-Vampire Diaries story right now on ClevverTV! Hey guys-Joslyn Davis here in Beverly Hills talking about how Twi-fans are reacting to the CW's new show "Vampire Diaries." So did the show rip off Twilight or are angry viewers really entirely uninformed? It is time to set the record straight! Even though Twilight hit theaters before Vampire Diaries hit TV screens, the truth is that Vampire Diaries was a book way before Twilight was even a twinkle in Stephanie Meyer's eye! Vampire Diaries was written by LJ Smith and published 14 years before Meyer's first book in the Twi saga arrived on shelves. So now die-hard Vampire Diaries fans are actually flipping the switch on the entire scandal saying that Twilight is actually copying Vampire Diaries. So will there be a lawsuit or any other legal drama regarding the vampire overload-probably not! Attorneys say that the vampire-based plots are about similar ideas and not about copyright infringement. Well, we here at ClevverTV think that this is a perfect of example of the more the merrier! There are a lot of obvious similarities between the two entertainment hits, but can't we just enjoy what each has to offer instead of arguing about which one is better? Hey guys – I'm your girl Joslyn Davis with the latest news straight from the set of Vampire Diaries. Just when it seemed like the plot of this show couldn't get any more complicated, we get Elena's biological mother. In the most recent episodes of the CW hit, the lead character Elena, learns that not only is she adopted…her biological mother later became a vampire…at the hands of her boyfriends vampire brother. All of which is further complicated by the fact that one of the teacher's at her current high school was her bio-mom's husband, but not her own father. Wow…and you thought your life was complicated!!! At any rate, actress Mia Kirshner will be making a big return to the show as Isobel, Elena's birth mom. And from the looks of things, she will in fact be appearing in more than one episode. And guys, here's the part where some of you who want to be surprised when you watch the upcoming shows should probably cover your ears. Rumor has it that Isobel will come back to Mystic Falls and demand to meet Elena, which seems odd considering all the crazy lengths she'd gone to keep Elena away from her.
